The hostilities in Germany take a three-day break as the quest for the coveted golden cup enters the Quarterfinals (Round of 8). Six European giants and two South American powerhouses qualify; only France and Ukraine are runners-up in their group while Germany, England, Argentina, Portugal, Italy and Brazil are all topseed in their respective groups. Ghana, the last African nation standing, was ousted via a 3-0 Brazilian triumph and so was Asia-Pacific's last hope, Australia, due to a 1-0 defeat by Italy.

The Philippines once again witnessed today the premiere of another highly-anticipated and highly-budgeted Hollywood film - SUPERMAN RETURNS - much earlier than any other part of the world, including the United States of America.
Wait for my personal review of the motion picture which I will post as soon as I have watched the movie this week... (-> wishful thinking, haha)
